Chinese Star Jasmine Overview

Trachelospermum is a genus of around 11 evergreen self-twining woody vines native to Southeast Asia. They have jasmine-like, white flowers and are highly scented making them popular garden plants. Several have good Autumn colour with their glossy green or variegated leaves turning bronze or reddish-purple in the colder months. They can tolerate sun or partial shade but must be grown in well-drained soils with shelter from cold winds.

Common problems with Chinese Star Jasmine

Generally problem free, when grown inside they are more susceptible to pests such as red spider mite, whitefly, scale insects and mealybugs. When grown in heavy, damp soil they are more prone to Phytophthora root rots.
