Tephrocactus Overview

Tephrocactus is a genus containing around 9 perennial species that are endemic to Argentina, Bolivia and northern Chile. These plants reside in the Cactaceae family, they are popular with cactus hobbyists as indoor specimens. Also grown as landscaping plants in warm dry climates. The stems of these plants grow in distinct rounded segments that detach readily and plants in cultivation rarely flower.
