    Rhodohypoxis Overview

This is a small genus of tuberous, clump-forming herbaceous perennials in the Hypoxidaceae family native to parts of South Africa where they inhabit regions with Summer rainfall and dry Winters. In cultivation they are often grown in alpine houses or in pots or containers where they can be brought inside during cold spells to protect from frosts. They display tufts of narrow, hairy leaves and star-shaped flowers in shades of red or pink in Summer.
