Aechmea 'Elegant Flame' Overview
A stunning bromeliad from the rainforests of South America, it has a rosette of thick, sword-shaped, mid-green foliage from which it's red and yellow flame-shaped flower rises on a central stalk. Launched at RHS Chelsea in 2015 this exotic plant has fast become a favourite. The genus is named Aechmea after the Greek word aichne meaning lance point or spear-like, which it's leaves resemble.
