Octopus Plant Overview

Didierea trollii is a deciduous, low-growing, spiny, succulent perennial in the Didiereaceae family. It is endemic to Madagascar and resides naturally in a spiny forest thicket environment. This ecosystem is unique to Madagascar and characterised by poor quality soil and erratic, low winter rainfall. This species grows along the ground and produces small, green leaves, it typically doesn't exceed 2m in height, growing on average just over a metre tall. Flowers are green-white in colour, with pink stamens in the centre.
