    Ironwort Overview

    A genus of annual or perennial herbs and subshrubs in the Lamiaceae (deadnettle) family originating from temperate regions around the Mediterranean and parts of Eurasia. They are Xerophytic, thriving in arid rocky terrains at high altitudes. They are commonly known as Ironwort, cultivated varieties include Sideritis raeseri and its many hybrids that are generally grown as a crop to produce herbal medicines as teas.
