Yellow Rattle Overview
Rhinanthus minor is an annual species in the Orobanchaceae family. This plant produces characteristic pea-like, tubular yellow flowers which are surrounded by papery modified leaves with serrate toothed edges. It typically grows to around 30cm in height, producing branching stems with lance-shaped leaves. This wildflower is parasitic of grasses and because of this allows other wildflowers to grow which would otherwise be out-competed by grass.
