    Orchid Overview

Dendrobium is a large genus of epiphytic orchids containing around 1542 species from a range of diverse locations, from high altitude mountainous regions to lowland tropical forests. Some species that grow predominantly on rocks and others adapted to dry desert climates. Some of these plants are hairy and the flowers vary from tiny to over 1m long, arranged in clusters of anywhere from 1-100 flowers.
