Ice Plant Overview

Argyroderma is a small genus containing around 11 perennial succulent species in the Aizoaceae family. They originate from South Africa, have a compact, dwarfed habit and tend to branch at the base, producing leaves in pairs. Leaves are smooth, finger-shaped, fleshy, grey-green coloured and the leaf pairs are joined at the base. Showy, single, stalked, daisy-like blooms are produced in the winter. These may be pink, red, purple, yellow or white and the flowers are photosensitive, opening in response to the midday sun and closing in the evening.
