Pothos Overview

The genus Epipremnum contains roughly 17 evergreen, aerial root climbing, woody-stemmed perennial vines. It includes the popular houseplant generally referred to as Pothos, Golden Pothos, Devil's Vine or Devil's Ivy – for its foliage and growth habit. In India, it is known as Money Plant. Epipremnum has been extensively grown and many cultivars now exist, with attractive, variegated, veined and otherwise adapted foliage. Flowers are small and uninteresting, arranged on spikes. They have no petals but are surrounded by a green-white spathe, generally pale coloured and non-showy. Epipremnum rarely produce flowers when grown as houseplants. All parts toxic if ingested and the sap of E. aureum can irritate the skin.
