Water Dropwort Overview

Oenanthe javanica 'Flamingo' is an annual or perennial species in the Apiaceae family of carrots, celery and parsley. They are found naturally in damp meadows, marshes or standing water. This lovely aquatic plant creates a great habitat for pond life. Favoured for its attractive variegated foliage, the leaves are attractively coloured pale green, with white and pink along the leaf edges. This colouration is stronger following a hot, dry, sunny summer and cold, but not freezing autumn temperatures. Flowers are small, white and produced in the summer. Well suited to planting at pond edges or at the start of a bog garden.
