Luma Overview

A small genus comprising 2 species of evergreen shrubs or small trees in the Myrtaceae family native to Chile and Argentina where they are found in the Valdivian temperate rain forest region of the Southwest coast. They have red or orange bark splashed with white and small, aromatic leaves and bowl-shaped flowers followed by purple or black berries. In cultivation they prefer a well-drained soil.
