Disocactus Overview

Disocactus is a small genus containing around 16 evergreen perennial species in the Cactaceae family. These plants are found from Mexico to Central America and they grow without the need for soil substrate in tropical climates. They produce many long, rounded to flattened cylindrical stems and large, funnel-shaped white, yellow or red-pink blooms. These lead onto fleshy white fruits and in some species the blooms are scented.
