Alexanders Overview

Smyrnium is a genus of mostly biennial herbaceous plants in the carrot family, Apiaceae. Members of this genus display characteristic umbels of tiny green, yellow or white flowers. They are known commonly as Alexanders, are native to the Mediterranean region and are commonly seen in the hedgerows of Europe. In cultivation, they are used in naturalistic planting schemes in borders or sunny woodland glades.
