    Veronicastrum Overview

Now placed in the Plantaginaceae (plantain) family, Veronicastrum spp. were until recently thought to be in the figwort family but genetic studies have reassigned the genus. Members of the genus are tall herbaceous perennials with long racemes of tiny purple, blue or pink flowers in Summer. They have been extensively cultivated giving rise to a variety of attractive garden specimens.
