Thrift Overview
Armeria is a genus containing around 91 evergreen perennial species from the Plumbaginaceae family. They are usually cultivated for their attractive straight to strap-shaped leaves and colourful, cup-shaped flowers, which grow in a tufted-clumping fashion. These plants can be found across most of the temperate Northern Hemisphere and from southern South America to the Falkland Islands and they are often found along coastlines. Many are popular for garden rockery planting and commonly known by the name Thrift.
