Tradescantia 'Nanouk' is a herbaceous perennial cultivar in the Commelinaceae family. It is also known by the common name Spiderwort ‘Nanouk', typically grown for its attractive, pink, green and white lance-shaped foliage. Delicate flowers are small, 3-petalled and may be blue, pink-purple, or white in colour. commonly grown as a houseplant indoors, these are grown worldwide. They make great, low-maintenance houseplants with an attractive trailing habit that suits placement in hanging containers. This cultivar is protected under intellectual property laws by Plant Breeders' Rights. These provide the breeder of new plants exclusive control over the plant material for a set amount of time. Plants in the genus Tradescantia have until recently been commonly known as ‘Wandering Jew’. This name is no longer used by the horticultural world due to its historical use in supporting antisemitic stereotypes.
