Fuchsia magellanica Overview

Fuchsia magellanica is an attractive species in the evening primrose family, Onagraceae that are commonly known as Lady's Eardrops Flowers are tubular and bright pink-purple to red in colour. It has a clumping, bushy habit and is half-hardy, coping with temperatures as low as -5 degrees Celsius, plant in a position of full or partial sun, in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth. This species has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit. It is also part of the RHS “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants that support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen.
