Codonopsis lanceolata Overview

Native to China, this herbaceous perennial produces purple-tinged, twining stems and eliptical leaves. Its bell-shaped flowers are a greenish-white colour, flushed with mauve, and can be solitary or paired. Codonopsis lanceolata makes a great addition to herbaceous borders or woodland gardens, or even twining through small shrubs due to its scandent climbing habit.
