Overview

Genus of around 214 evergreen, perennial shrubs and trees from Australia. Commonly grown for their tubular, 2-lipped flowers, colours include white, green, red, purple and yellow and these may be patterned with spots on the inner surface. Foliage is variable across species, often small and hairy or shiny in texture.
