Fairy Castle Cactus Overview

Acanthocereus tetragonus 'Fairy Castle' is an interesting branching cultivar in the cacti family, Cactaceae. It generally produces a group of columnar stems in a tight cluster, these form the turrets of a fairy castle, hence the cultivar and common names. It is well known by the names Fairy Castle Cactus and Fairy Castle. The stems can reach 15cm in width and they tend to have 5 sides with white-spined ribs and between 4-7 spines around the column. Flowers are large in comparison to the plant, they are very showy and can reach up to 25cm across, these are commonly white, but may occasionally be yellow.
