Pleiospilos nelii is an intriguing little succulent perennial plant from the Aizoaceae family. Originating from the Cape Province of South Africa. This interesting plant protects itself from predators by means of disguise. Commonly known by the names Splitrock, Living Granite, Cleftstone and Mimicry Plant. It produces pairs of fleshy, grey-green leaves measuring up to 8cm in length. Flowers are showy and daisy-like, coloured orange-pink and appearing in late summer. The blooms measure up to 7cm across and may be targeted by aphids. This plant has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
