Ribes is a genus containing around 193 deciduous or evergreen shrubs that produce edible fruits commonly termed Gooseberries, Blackcurrants and Redcurrants. This genus is also grown for its attractive, 4-5 petalled, cup-shaped, pink, yellow or white flowers.
