Ash Overview
Fraxinus is a genus of around 63 mostly deciduous trees in the Oleaceae family with a wide distribution across Europe, Asia and North America. Commonly known as ash, these trees have pinnately-divided leaves, winged seeds and sometimes develop colourful autumn foliage. Some are cultivated as woodland or coastal ornamental landscaping trees and the wood is popular with woodworkers and carpenters.
