Arum Lily 'Green Goddess' Overview
Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Green Goddess' is a clump-forming semi-evergreen or herbaceous [depending on growing location] perennial with long dark green leaves. In summer, it produces green spathes with white centres that can be 15-20cm long. Inside these white-throated flowers are yellow spadices. Also known as Arum Lily 'Green Goddess', this plant thrives in moist soil, making it a good choice to grow as a marginal plant alongside ponds and streams. Or in wet corners of gardens that are in full sun or only have partial shade. If frosts blacken the leaves, that can be tidied [pruned] in spring, although care needs to be taken when handling as its sap can irritate skin and eyes. Wear long sleeves, gloves and wash hands afterwards. This cultivar has earned a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
