    Princess Flower Overview

    Tibouchina urvilleana is an evergreen shrub species in the Melastomataceae family. It may grow to over 4m in height, producing oval leaves with a soft coating of hairs. The textured leaves have distinctive veins running across their length. Flowers are bright purple with black stamens in the centre, they measure between 6-10cm in diameter. This species has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
