Mexican Feather Grass Overview

Nassella tenuissima is also known by the common names Mexican Feather Grass and Texas Needle Grass. It was once better known by the name Stipa tenuissima, and is sometimes still sold as such. It is a deciduous species in the grass family, Poaceae. It typically grows to around 60cm in height, with a tufted habit and arching stems bearing feathery, discrete, grassy flowers in the summer. This plant has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
