Ribes sanguineum is a deciduous shrub species in the Grossulariaceae family. Commonly known by the names Flowering Currant, Redflower Currant, or Red Flowering Currant, this species originates from western North America. It produces attractive, small, 5-petalled pink-red flowers in early spring, each flower measures between 0.5-1cm across.
