With its quaint Tudor barn, Georgian-era heated wall and charming heritage orchard, Middleton Hall & Gardens make for a surprisingly scenic place for a spot of retail therapy.
Nestled in the Victorian stable yard are a host of independent businesses and a coffee shop. But there’s plenty to see once you’re done browsing trinkets. An amble around the grand manor house before slipping outside into the beautiful eighteenth-century walled garden is rewarded with sweeping views of the oldest man-made lake in North Warwickshire. This well-loved estate was rescued and restored by volunteers and their dedication has clearly paid off. The gardens surrounding the house are impressive in form and content, from the fragrant herb garden to the swaying wildflower meadow. Steeped in history and dotted with peaceful viewing points, it’s no surprise that this is also a popular venue for weddings. Speaking of lovebirds, nestled within 42 acres of lush North Warwickshire countryside, Middleton Hall & Gardens is a treat for twitchers who can swing by the nearby RSPB reserve to spot grey herons, kingfishers and lapwings.
