Hanging or standing Chinese Money Plant Kokodama
♥ THE PLANT
Pilea peperomioides is a flowering plant species in the nettle family Urticaceae, native to Yunnan and Sichuan provinces in southern China.
Their name comes from the fact the Chinese considered them good feng shui, bringing good luck and good fortune to the owner. For this reason, and because it is straightforward to take care of, thriving in indoor settings, the Chinese money plant is a great gift for yourself or others. Striking are their large, circular, shiny leaves, which can have a diameter of over 15 centimetres (6 in) which earn it several names, apart from money plant, from UFO plant to pancake plant. Great as both a standing pot or hanging in a kokodama.
LIGHT: Prefers bright, indirect light such as that filtered through a veil curtain can cope in the shade but may lose some of its vibrancy. Dislikes direct sunlight.
WATER: Give it a drink only when the soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering / soggy soil.
TEMP: Average household temperatures 12-24°C. No lower than 10°C
HUMIDITY: It likes humidity, making it ideal for growing in a steamy bathroom or kitchen.
Plant Size: 12 cm x 35 cm
Please note: the Pilea stems are very fragile, and despite our best efforts, some may snap during transit. They will grow back fast!
