This plant loves a sunny spot on the windowsill and will encourage growth if this is achieved.
This plant is eas to acre for requires watering approx once per week.
These plants love a nice warm humid location and also benefit from a wam rainy day outside.
Supplied in a 12cm pot approx 30-40cm tall.
Partial Shade - At least 4–6 hours of dappled sun.
Grows up to 1m in height with a 1m spread. Takes 3 years to reach maturity.
Sandy – Large particles that feel dry and gritty and can't hold water.
Fertile Loam – The soil type that we all love! It contains silt, sand and clay.
Clay – The smallest soil particles which retain water well and feels sticky when wet and smooth when dry.
This plant will not survive cold temperatures.
All parts of this cultivar are likely to cause harm if ingested, the tissue of Dieffenbachia species contains needle-shaped calcium oxalate crystals known as raphides. These cause a burning sensation in humans and can lead to adema.
Its recommended to keep these plants out of reach of children and pets as a range of unpleasant symptoms have been reported from contact with this genus of plants. The sap is an irritant, avoid contact with skin and eyes.
This shouldn’t put you off growing these plants, as long as you don’t try to eat them! Scary stories about Dieffenbachia plants being a deadly poison are urban legends.
