It feels like its the end of seed sowing season but it really isn't here is a list of some vegetables that can be sown right now.

Borage Sow: August-September. Harvest: August-October. Tastes like: Green melon, cucumber or runner beans.
Or try Sweetcorn shoots which you need to grow in total darkness. They a bit like bean shoots but much sweeter. Great for getting your vitamin intake up. Link to Sweet Corn Shoots Seeds
I hope although the weather is hot and the ground dry that you give a few of these a chance.
Quick Tip When you sow seeds directly water the bottom of the drill. This increases germination success.
