Bees live in Hives or Colonies these are split into three living areas for the three different roles bees do.
The Queen Bees suite she runs the whole hive laying eggs for the hives next generation.
The Workers All female bees have jobs, like are foraging for food (pollen and nectar) and building and protecting the hive, keeping it clean and beating their wing to circulate the air over the hatching eggs.
The Drones these are all-male bees, their role is to mate with the Queen bee. There are a few hundred male drone bees living in the hive during the summer, but in the winter these are kicked out of the hive and new ones hatch the following spring.
