Pennisetum advena 'Rubrum' is an ornamental grass from the grass family, Poaceae, The foliage forms a dark red clump about 2-3 ft high. In the spring it is covered with long, fluffy silver and red plumes which are narrow and cylindrical. This cultivar is commonly known as Purple Fountain Grass, Red Fountain Grass or Tender Fountain Grass. This cultivar is a hybrid created from the specie Pennisetum macrostachyum and Pennisetum setaceum.
