Paradise Lily Overview

Paradisea lusitanica is a clump-forming, rhizomatous, herbaceous perennial in the Asparagaceae family. Taller than its sister species, P. lusitanica typically grows to between 80-120cm high with a spread of around 30-40cm. Foliage is narrow and grass-like. Flowers are produced on erect stems, the blooms are trumpet-shaped and white. These are borne on shorter stems compared to the related species P. liliastrum. Thrives in rich, moist soil and can tolerate full sun or partial shade.
