Winter Honeysuckle 'Winter Beauty' Overview

Lonicera × purpusii 'Winter Beauty' is a semi-evergreen, highly fragrant winter honeysuckle with cream-white flowers with yellow anthers. The red-purple shoots unfurl into dark green leaves. The parents of this cross (L. fragrantissima and L. standishii) were collected in China and introduced to the UK in 1845. This species has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit. It is also part of the RHS “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants that support pollinator populations by providing ample nectar and/ or pollen.
