Manuka 'Martini' Overview

Leptospermum scoparium 'Martini' is a dense, compact, evergreen shrub, ideal for growing in containers. Being drought resistant, it is also suitable for gravel gardens and shrub or wall-side borders in milder areas. It has arching shoots that bear masses of lovely saucer-shaped ice-pink flowers, with a dark centre, which are very attractive to bees. It flowers from spring to early summer. Its foliage is dark green and aromatic. To thrive, the half-hardy Leptospermum scoparium 'Martini' needs a sheltered spot in fertile, well-drained, sandy soil, in full sun. Ideally, it prefers a slightly acidic soil. Originally from New Zealand, 'Martini' is one of the best Leptospermum (also known as New Zealand Tea Tree and Manuka) varieties available.
