Euonymus 'Harlequin' Overview
Euonymus fortunei 'Harlequin' is a low-growing, mound-forming, evergreen shrub cultivar, reaching a maximum height and width of around 1m. Foliage is narrowly oblong and its bright green leaves are heavily mottled with white colouring that may develop a red-pink tinge. Suitable for most styles and types of garden, Spindle 'Harlequin' as it's also known, is particularly useful for planting en masse on slopes and banks, positioned to brighten up dull corners and can be planted in containers for seasonal displays. Euonymus fortunei 'Harlequin' prefers poor, well-drained soil and likes a sunny position, but it also does very well in partial shade. It is extremely versatile and needs little maintenance, so is a popular choice for busy gardeners! Very little pruning is required, however it can be clipped to shape in early summer.
