Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald Gaiety’ is a small, bushy evergreen shrub which will climb if planted against a wall. It has rounded leaves, with irregular white margins that tinge pink in winter. It rarely flowers. Awarded a Golden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society, this favoured cultivar of Euonymus fortunei, or Spindle, can brighten up a shady corner. Preferring poor soil and a sunny position, it also does well in partial shade. It needs little maintenance so is a popular choice for busy gardeners!
Generally not harvested but stems can be cut & included in floral arrangements.
Take semi-hardwood cuttings.
This low maintenance plant is a useful addition providing structure & winter colour to borders but can also be grown in mix container's when young. Suitable for all garden styles it can be clipped into neat shapes.
