Weeping Birch Overview

Betula pendula 'Tristis' is a deciduous tree cultivar in the Betulaceae family. It grows to a medium size, producing slim branches, with a narrow crown and a pendulous habit. The trunk is white in colour and leaves are oval-shaped. This plant displays attractive autumn colouration, with the leaves turning yellow in autumn. Flowers are arranged in catkin structures, they are yellow-brown in colour and slim. This cultivar has a weeping habit and is fully hardy, plant in a position of full sun to partial shade, in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth.
