River Birch Overview
This is a useful landscape tree, and it will adapt to a wide range of growing conditions. It has arching stems and small soft green leaves. This is a short lived tree with beautiful pinkish, smooth and shiny young bark which will turn brown as it matures. The older bark will flake and curls in brown sheets. The leaves are about 2-3ins long; they are bright green on top with a silver below, and will turn yellow in the autumn.
