Japanese laurel 'Golden King'
Aucuba japonica 'Golden King' is an evergreen shrub with a rounded habit. It produces dark green, waxy leaves with toothed edges. Leaves are attractively splashed with golden-yellow in this cultivar. Small flowers are usually produced in the summer, followed by ornamental red, glossy berries. This plant is a good choice for hedging or screening due to its thick foliage. It may also be grown as a free-standing shrub for its ornamental value. This cultivar grows well in most soils, with the exception of waterlogged soils, allow to dry out between waterings to reduce chances of root rot.
