Japanese Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' Overview

Anemone x hybrida 'Honorine Jobert' is a herbaceous perennial cultivar in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. It produces dark foliage divided into rough-edged leaflets. Flowers are white, they have between 6-9 tepal structures. Tepals are petal-like structures which cannot definitively be classified as petals (to attract pollinators) or sepals, which surround flower buds as a layer of protection. Flowers have notable yellow stamens in the centre. It has a clumping habit and is fully hardy, plant in a position of full or partial sun, in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth. This cultivar has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
