Overview

Sedum takesimense 'Atlantis' is an attractive evergreen perennial in the stonecrop family, Crassulaceae. It has attractive white and green variegated foliage with scalloped edges, arranged in rosettes. Leaves may acquire a pinkish hue in the autumn. It produces dainty star-shaped yellow flowers which are popular with pollinating insects. This attractive cultivar won the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year award in 2019. It thrives in a rock garden setting and could be used for green roof planting for its tough, drought-tolerant qualities. It is protected under intellectual property laws by Plant Breeders' Rights. These provide the breeder of new plants exclusive control over the plant material for a set amount of time. It has a ground-covering habit and is fully hardy in the UK, coping with freezing temperatures as long as it doesn't get too wet, it makes a great container plant. Developed by grower Dave Mackenzie.
