This is a small semi-evergreen tree of graceful spreading habit. The flowerheads will open in mid-summer and the bracts will turn pinkish. You will find that an abundant crop of strawberry-like fruits are produced in the autumn. Some leaves may persist in the winter and in mild areas even until the following spring, others will turn red in the autumn.
How to propagate Dogwood
Propagate from seed or rooted layers struck in a moist sand-peat mixture.
By hardwood cuttings in winter.
Other uses of Dogwood
Grown for their flowers, foliage or brightly coloured winter stems and can be used for flower arranging.
