    Fern Overview

Genus comprising over 30 species of evergreen or deciduous, epiphytic ferns. With characteristically divided fern foliage, their ovate or triangular fronds arise singly from a creeping, scaly rhizome. Species in this genus are widely cultivated as ornamental species for their attractive, shiny foliage, and some species are commonly grown as houseplants, looking particularly good when cascading from hanging baskets in humid greenhouses or bathrooms. In its natural habitat, Davallia plants are found in the Meditteranean, Asia, Australia and the Pacific Islands. This genus was historically known as Humata.
