This variety of self-pollinating apricots must be grown in Mediterranean​ areas that receive wet winters and warm summers. The fruit is reasonably sweet and juicy with a soft melting texture. The Charisma apricot has a yellow to orange skin with a red blush.

Charisma apricots flower towards the end of winter and ripen during the last weeks of Spring. The fruit has a good shelf life.

Propagation

Cuttings

Take semi-hardwood cuttings in the growing season. Plant in a good draining soil and keep moist until fully rooted. Commercially apricots are budded on a rootstock.

Seed

Seeds can be sown at a depth of 1.5 cm in 15 cm pots. Germination takes 2 to 4 months. As they require a cold stratification period of at least 2-3 months to germinate. seeds do not grow true to type!

The main pests that affect this species are spider mites, mealy bugs, aphids and scale. All these pests can be removed by blasting warm soapy water at affected areas. Ensure the soil is well draining or fungal diseases may occur. This fruiting tree only favours the Mediterranean areas.
