A genus of 10 accepted species of annual, biennial or perennial plants and subshrubs in the Malvaceae family native to the Mediterranean, Asia, North America and Australia. They have spirally-arranged divided palmate leaves with clusters of conspicuous bowl-shaped flowers in shades of pink. Commonly known as tree mallows, they are popular garden ornamentals that prefer full sun and well-drained soil.
