Chinese Sacred Lily Overview
Narcissus tazetta is a tall, 'bunch-flowered' daffodil that can have up to 20 small flowers clustered on one stem. It has a strong fragrance and is one of the daffodil types often referred to as 'Narcissi'. It has flat, white, outer sepals surrounding small, yellow, cup-shaped, trumpet flowers. Narcissus tazetta (also known as Chinese Sacred Lily) is a popular cut flower and often grown or 'forced' indoors during winter or spring. Outside, plant Narcissus tazetta bulbs - two to three times as deep as the bulb is long - in borders or containers in autumn, on a shallow layer of gravel or grit. They will flower best in a sunny position. No need to water, unless the weather is very dry - they prefer a dry soil so always provide good drainage when planting - especially on heavy soils.
