Acridocarpus Overview

Genus consisting of around 43 evergreen shrubs and small tree species with a scrambling growth habit. These woody climbers generally have alternate foliage and yellow, cup-shaped flowers arranged in a terminal raceme. This triangular-shaped structure is a form of unbranched inflorescence where the oldest flowers are formed at the base and new blooms from the top. They are restricted in their distribution to tropical and subtropical environments in Africa.
